After Sept. 15, 2009 - All pleasure craft operators will require their operator card.
Vessel and Horsepower restrictions apply to youth under the age of 16 years.
How to get your Pleasure craft Operator Card
An operator card can be issued to anyone that successfully completes an accredited test. An individual can prepare for the test on their own, via home study, or attend a S.C.O.T.T.S. BOAT SAFE classroom lesson(3 hour session) then write the test.
The S.C.O.T.T.S. BOAT SAFE classroom lesson contains all of the required material as provided by the original Canadian Coast Guard program, plus all of the extras that our 40 years of boating experience provides. The class room presentation is well planned and organized, and is tailored to both the novice and experienced boater.
Novice boaters will not be overwhelmed with material, but will learn all of the boating basics to get them started as a boat operator.
The many experienced boaters that have attended our class have always commented that they have learned many new aspects of "on the water safety" as well as the many tips and techniques to understand and remember the many systems in play on the water. Gain the knowledge to be able to explore new waterways or be able to "get out" to those distant fishing hot spots.

Attend our classroom presentation and enjoy your boating experience with a clear understanding of on-the-water-safety. Learn and understand the buoyage systems and the collision regulations. Find out how the various Acts, Laws, Regulations and Systems affect you on the water.
An effective learning experience for the whole family...
We offer a family plan and encourage parents to bring their children out to the session. This is an opportunity for a great family learning experience. And, if children would like to take a refresher course when they get a little older, it's free.
S.C.O.T.T.S. BOAT SAFE is a Winnipeg based company providing training and testing services for boaters to acquire their Pleasure Craft Operator Card. We also offer training and testing through our instructor base in Ontario,Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia.
